Hardwood Tips |

Vacuuming Hardwood: It is a good idea to regularly vacuum your hardwood floor (use a soft bristle brush). Vacuuming gets rid of small stones, mud, and dirt that has been tracked into your home from the outdoors, which can breakdown the finish in your hardwood floor. You may also use mats in entrances and foyers so that people can wipe their feet before entering your home. Mopping Hardwood: Water and hardwood flooring do not mix. Use only a manufacturer's recommended cleaning products on your hardwood floor. We recommend Woodpecker cleaning products for Atlantis Hardwood Flooring (however always test any cleaning product before usage over an area). Spills on Hardwood: When an accident happens, and something spills on your hardwood flooring, you should use a slightly damp white cloth or paper towel, and immediately clean and dry the affected area. Furniture Glides for Hardwood: Whether it is narrow wheels on a piano or sharp wooden/metal legs on a piece of furniture, they can scratch and dent your hardwood floor. This can make a new hardwood floor look like an old, worn hardwood floor. Any heavy furniture that rests directly on top of hardwood flooring should have felt protectors or furniture coasters installed/placed beneath them. For very heavy objects such as pianos you may also decide to use rubber caps. |
